Appointments panel backs nine board nominees, with one split vote

NH LACONIA — Appointments Subcommittee advances nine board and commission nominees for full council approval. The Laconia panel forwarded candidates for formal approval on April 13, advancing reappointments to the Library Board and Trustees of the Trust Funds along with new appointments to the Planning Board, Zoning Board of Adjustment, and Weirs TIF District Advisory Board. Eight of the nine recommendations passed unanimously, while the appointment of Debra Cheney as a regular member of the Zoning Board of Adjustment passed 2-1, with Councilor Mike Conant in opposition.
