City Council approves FY27 budget with IT manager addition

NH LACONIA — Laconia adopts $102.3M FY27 budget with IT manager addition. The City Council voted 6-0 to approve the general fund budget of $102,341,039, including $100,000 for a six-month IT Manager position in place of a proposed Deputy City Manager. The amended budget added $509,449 to the Downtown Tax Increment Financing District for Rotary Park lighting and security improvements and Pumpkinfest support.

In related votes, the council voted 5-1 to amend an Elm Street School bus loop drainage project to use $33,000 in impact fees down from $65,000; approved FY26 carryforwards totaling $1,989,952; voted 6-0 to extend emergency lane designation for Paugus and Prescott Avenues through July 1, 2027; and made numerous board appointments and reappointments.
