NH LACONIA — The Laconia Conservation Commission endorsed a Master Plan consultant's recommended direction concentrating future growth in developed areas while protecting outlying neighborhoods. Members recommended a joint workshop with the Planning Board and Zoning Board to discuss shared priorities. In separate business, the Commission discussed a Lake Winnipesaukee Alliance report showing declining water clarity, increased cyanobacteria and phosphorus, and recommended further discussion with the Water Department regarding contingency planning for potential threats to Laconia's drinking water supply.

The Commission also planned a regional conservation workshop for January in Laconia, meeting with conservation commissions from Belmont, Gilford and Meredith.
