Council approves $8.1 million Colonial Theatre sales agreement

NH LACONIA — Laconia City Council unanimously approves $8.1 million Colonial Theatre purchase agreement and impact fee allocations. In a motion by Councilor Soucy seconded by Councilor Conant, the Council approved the Purchase and Sale Agreement with 609 Main Street, LLC for a purchase price of $8,117,653.39 offsetting the December 2019 promissory note debt. For FY27, the City commits $268,200 in bond principal from the General Fund, $188,500 in bond interest from Downtown TIF, and $60,000 in condo association fees from Downtown TIF.
The Council also unanimously approved two impact fee requests totaling $39,000: $5,000 for Public Library archway repointing and $34,000 for a Parks and Recreation administrative vehicle. The Council approved Temporary Traffic Order 2026-08 for Concerts on Canal with $600 in city fees waived.
