Floor collapse spurs plans for new Public Works complex

NH LACONIA — Land & Buildings Subcommittee advances plans for consolidated Public Works facility. Public Works Director Nate Guerette reported a 14-inch garage floor sink due to unstable soil, prompting a major redesign effort beginning in January 2025. Engineering firm Weston & Sampson of Manchester presented three-parcel options for a new consolidated facility that would include dedicated snow storage, heated fleet maintenance garage, city-wide fueling station, and vehicle wash station.

City Manager Kirk Beattie will contact property owners regarding land purchases for the three candidate sites.
