NH LACONIA — Laconia backs $500,000 annual fire health grant with no local match. The City Council unanimously approved the Laconia Fire Department's application to the Foundation for Healthy Communities "Go North" program to expand its Mobile Integrated Health initiative, potentially providing up to $500,000 annually for five years at no cost to taxpayers. Fire Chief Joubert outlined how the funding would expand departmental workforce and extend services to neighboring communities.
The council also accepted a $10,000 Rotary Club donation for irrigation upgrades at Rotary Park, with a public hearing scheduled for August 10, and unanimously voted to begin the emergency lane designation process for Prescott and Paugus Avenues following months of resident complaints about road conditions.
