City Council · Meeting of October 7, 2026
NH LACONIA — Laconia Public Safety Subcommittee unanimously advanced a $500,000 Mobile Integrated Healthcare grant to the full council. The Laconia Fire Department was awarded the grant in two parts: $25,000 for data collection and training, and $475,000 to expand the MIH program to Tilton, Northfield, and Belmont, with support from those communities. Fire Chief Tim Joubert said the program aims to reduce overuse of emergency medical services and unnecessary hospital trips.
The $500,000 covers one year with potential for five-year renewal through annual reapplication; if the grant lapses, the city currently has no dedicated funding for the positions created.
