NH LACONIA — Solid waste ordinance amendment advanced to full Council. The Government Operations and Ordinances Subcommittee voted unanimously on October 7 to forward Ordinance 2026-194 to the full City Council with an amendment changing curbside bin timing from 7 PM the night before pickup to 1 PM the day before pickup. Councilors Hoffman, Conant, and Nye heard from Project Manager Wes Anderson on proposed changes to Chapter 194 including defining accessory dwelling units to one set of collection cans, restricting curbside eligibility to certain properties, requiring appointments for bulky items, removing the 2,000-pound vehicle weight threshold for commercial haulers, updating the fee structure, and adding automatic rate increase provisions to cover waste management costs.
