NH LACONIA — Trust funds post 12.4 percent return as equity markets surge and Fed cuts rates. The Trustees of the Trust Fund reviewed 2025 portfolio performance, with combined assets returning 12.4 percent net of fees, exceeding long-term historical averages. The portfolio gained 1.9 percent in Q4, driven by a Federal Reserve rate reduction and strong equity performance: the S&P 500 returned 2.6 percent, international developed equity rose 4.9 percent to mark its best year since 2009, and the Bloomberg Aggregate Bond Index gained 1.1 percent.
Heading into 2026, trustees noted weakening labor market indicators and uncertainty surrounding tariff policy pending a U.S. Supreme Court ruling.
