NH LACONIA — Commission reviews natural resource inventory, assigns water quality and climate research. The Laconia Conservation Commission spent its June 17 meeting conducting a detailed review of the draft 2026 Natural Resource Inventory, which will guide the city's conservation priorities, with Chair Dean Anson and members discussing revisions to readability, formatting, and conservation recommendations. Members assigned research tasks including water quality trend analysis to Pete Nagel, climate change and flood data research to Dan Hooberman, and data center environmental impacts to Deb Williams.
Lisa Morin agreed to coordinate with neighboring conservation commissions. The Commission also raised concerns about invasive species risks from jet ski races on the lake and noted the need for weekend Lake Host staffing to prevent the spread of zebra mussels and spiny water flea.
