Laconia Police Commission approves minutes in routine session

NH LACONIA — Laconia Police Commission hears operational briefing on summer staffing and performance metrics. Chief Matthew Canfield reported the department's new organizational structure is functioning effectively, and Laconia remains one of seven CALEA advanced accredited agencies in New Hampshire out of 20-21 statewide. Year-to-date the department has handled seven overdoses with no fatalities, and SpidrTech text-message alerts for June totaled 1,620, up 14.7 percent.

A Department of Justice COPS Office monitoring review of the department's grants went well overall.
