Finance Committee discusses FY27 budget amid TIFF projects
City Council · Meeting of June 18, 2026
NH LACONIA — Laconia Finance Committee frames FY27 budget discussions with TIFF projects and staffing gaps. The Finance Subcommittee discussed approximately $604,849 in three TIFF district initiatives including a $35,000 Weirs Boardwalk bandstand, downtown lighting of $414,449 and security cameras at $25,000, and landscaping and Pumpkinfest funding totaling $130,400. The committee also considered two proposed staffing positions — Deputy City Manager and Network Administrator for IT, each estimated at $100,000 plus benefits — not currently included in the City Manager's budget.
Councilor Hoffman expressed concern that the budget merely maintains current operations without funding needed infrastructure projects like a new DPW compound.
