Weirs board endorses boardwalk bandstand with $100,000 budget cap

NH LACONIA — Weirs board greenlights phased boardwalk bandstand project. The Weirs TIF Advisory Board unanimously approved a three-phase approach for a proposed boardwalk bandstand with a total cost not to exceed approximately $100,000. Chair Robert Ames outlined the structure: 14 feet 3 inches by 25 feet, supported by four posts, open on all four sides, positioned to complement the nearby train station.
The Weirs Action Committee committed to funding the stamped engineering plan if the City proceeds. The Board also discussed sand-migration solutions at Weirs Beach, including a potential no-wake zone near the docks and extension of the existing breakwater, with Councilor Mike Conant tasked to follow up on no-wake zone status.
