Master Plan steering committee advances create phase work

Master Plan Steering Committee · Meeting of July 30, 2026

NH LACONIA — The Master Plan Steering Committee reviewed draft vision and land use strategies. The comprehensive analysis found approximately 69 percent of the city's parcels do not conform fully to current zoning regulations, a pattern reflecting historic development patterns. Committee members expressed support for the vision framework, which centers on strategic development, place protection, housing, safe transportation, diverse economy, infrastructure, and community resilience.

Four focus areas will guide future planning: Downtown Laconia, Weirs Beach, White Oaks Road Corridor, and Parade Road Corridor.
