Commission approves eight facility requests for summer and fall

NH LACONIA — Laconia Parks Commission approves eight facility requests for summer and fall events. Chair Mitch Hamel and Commissioners Rodney Roy, Deanna Guyer, and Laura Ringer unanimously approved requests including Laconia High School athletic practices at four parks through October 30, as well as community events ranging from the Belknap Mill's family gatherings at Rotary Park to Lakes Region Vineyard Church's August beach picnic and the police department's National Night Out. The commission also adopted a new agenda format and voted to cancel the August meeting.
Director Amy Lovisek reported the Parks Department has assumed control of the Colonial Theater and anticipates minimal renovation needs.
