Parks Commission approves facility requests, plans expanded programs

NH LACONIA — Laconia Parks Commission greenlights three facility requests and plans expanded 2026 programs. The commission unanimously approved a Family Resource Center fishing event at Opechee Cove Beach (June 6), a traveling playgroup at Tardif Park (May-September), and adult recreational softball at Memorial Park (April-November). Director Amy Lovisek reported 17 applications for a Parks Technician I position while planning Pumpkin Festival expansion including Friday soft opening and extended Saturday hours.
Assistant Director Abby Barton is planning spring-summer events: night sky observation (March 14), sledding party (February 20), and Easter Egg Hunt (March 28).
