Conservation Commission takes on resource inventory work

Conservation Commission · Meeting of January 21, 2026

NH LACONIA — Laconia Conservation Commission shifts natural resource inventory to in-house. A hired consultant will not complete the full natural resource inventory as originally planned, leaving the commission itself to complete the work. Members also reviewed a proposal for closed-course jet ski races scheduled for the first weekend of June at Lake Opechee, with applicant Shawn Dudek presenting safety protocols.

Dean Anson of the commission raised concerns about launch location and sediment disturbance, recommending the commission launch from the boat ramp and designate a refueling station.
