NH LACONIA — Laconia Conservation Commission schedules joint regional workshop for September 9. Chair Dean Anson and the Conservation Commission plan a joint conservation workshop with neighboring commissions from Meredith, Gilford, and Belmont to discuss cross-boundary conservation priorities, including aquifers, wetlands, wildlife corridors, and Pickerel Pond. Consultants Steve Whitman and Zak Brohinsky of Resilience Planning and Design presented Natural Resource Inventory findings to inform the city's master plan strategy, with Commission members emphasizing that future zoning should support identified conservation goals.
Planning staff reported the Planning Department is currently short-staffed.
