Downtown TIF reviews landscaping and lighting proposals

Downtown TIF Advisory Board · Meeting of April 22, 2026

NH LACONIA — Laconia Downtown TIF board reviews landscaping designs and $414K in lighting estimates. The Downtown TIF Advisory Board heard presentations from Belknap Landscaping on perennial-focused landscape plans for downtown public spaces, with the committee expressing a preference to keep costs under $100,000 excluding Pumpkin Fest funding of approximately $35,000. Board members raised concerns about using TIF funds for short-term events versus permanent improvements.

Planning Director Rob Mora will prepare finalized budget proposals for City Council consideration. Rotary Park and City Hall lighting upgrades carry cost estimates of $300,000 to $415,000.
