Heritage Commission approves three demolition permits, advances preservation planning

NH LACONIA — Laconia Heritage Commission approves three demolition permits, charts preservation course. Chair Marjory Wilkinson and the four-member commission approved permits for 208 Paugus Park Road, 33 White Oaks Road, and 19 Kingsley Avenue/30 Weeks Street; all three properties were described as uninhabitable. The third property drew an abstention from Wilkinson while the other members voted in favor.
The commission is also exploring preservation tools including neighborhood heritage districts and conservation easements for White Oaks Road and surrounding older neighborhoods.
