Water Commission reviews aging infrastructure needs

NH LACONIA — Laconia Water Commission approves August financials, addresses aging infrastructure. The board, led by Chairman Stephen Walsh and Commissioners John Tracy and David Wunsch, approved accounts payable and financial statements dated August 17. Superintendent Ben Crawford reported that a recent inspection of the wet well indicates improvements will be necessary within several years and asked the board to consider options to extend the current station's life or build a new facility with increased capacity.
The board authorized Crawford to pursue Northern Borders RC grant funding for Briarcrest Pumping Station improvements and discussed funding for metering equipment upgrades and SCADA replacements in FY2027.
