Committee approves August car show with revised traffic plan

NH LACONIA — Laconia Special Events Committee approves August 14 downtown car show. The committee unanimously approved the annual Defiant car show application SE2026-044 for organizers Kristin and Neilon Bastille, scheduled for August 14, 2026, from 4 PM to 9 PM on Main Street and Pleasant Street parking lot. The committee revised the traffic control plan to address prior congestion, implementing road closures on Main Street at Beacon and from Hanover to Church, Canal Street, and Pleasant Street at Veterans Square.
Applicants must coordinate with the Department of Public Works for additional trash receptacles, the Police Department for traffic signage and control, and the City Manager's Office for Temporary Traffic Order approval, and must submit an updated traffic control plan to the Planning Department.
