Conservation Commission advances Natural Resource Inventory mapping project

NH LACONIA — Conservation Commission chooses normalized mapping for Natural Resource Inventory update. FB Environmental consultants Sarah and Christine presented three co-occurrence analysis approaches; the commission expressed consensus for the normalized version, viewing it as least biased and easiest to explain publicly. The analysis identified priority areas including Pickerel Pond complex, Lily Pond and Black Brook, Jewett Brook, Lakeport wetland areas, and shoreline complexes.
The commission also reviewed a 26-lot cluster subdivision on Pickerel Pond Road and an outdoor boat and trailer storage facility on Endicott Street North, indicating it would provide detailed comments by June 3.
