NH LACONIA — Laconia Fire Department seeks $130K in overtime to maintain minimum staffing amid rising call volume. Fire Chief Tim Joubert reported responding to 4,782 calls in 2025, an increase of 440 from 2024, making Laconia the busiest department north of Concord. The department requested $70,000 for extra duty coverage and $60,000 for special event overtime to maintain 10-person minimum staffing.
Planning Director Rob Mora requested $150,000 to fund a comprehensive zoning ordinance rewrite, noting the current ordinance adopted in December 1995 no longer adequately addresses city needs and development activity involving more than 3,200 housing units in various stages.
