Police Commission Swears In Two New Officers

NH LACONIA — Laconia Police Commission swears in two officers, approves out-of-state trainings unanimously. Officer Stephanie Caron, who holds degrees in criminal justice and psychology from Plymouth State University and the U.S. Air Force, and Officer Jasmine Sallies, a Brewer police veteran with three-plus years of experience, were sworn in by City Clerk Katie Gargano.

The commission unanimously approved four out-of-state trainings for Detective Eric Adams, Chief Matthew Canfield, and Captain Allan Graton, with two fully funded by the Opiate Abatement Grant. Year-to-date, the department has recorded zero drug overdose deaths compared to 21 overdoses in 2025, of which 2-3 were fatal, and downtown enforcement in 2025 resulted in 350 arrests and 100 summonses.
